Maud Wagner, The first female Tattoo Artist in the US

Maud Wagner was a cool lady. Born in 1877, she worked as a contortionist and aerialist in a traveling circus, and it was there that she met her husband who taught her how to do stick and poke tattoos. She is considered the first female tattoo artist in the United States, and together they are credited for bringing tattoo artistry inland, away from the coast where I guess sailors and pirates were mainly all about it.
